The date you enter in the calculator stays in your browser's memory. The calculator does not attach that date or your calculated day count to analytics events, advertising events, or Sam requests. Sobriety Clock does not store the date in its database.
The calculator never creates a date-bearing URL. Retired links that contain a date parameter are redirected to the clean home page before the page is rendered and are excluded from the Sobriety Clock application access log. Other network infrastructure outside this application may operate its own security logs, so do not put a sobriety date in a URL.
We use Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement to understand page use and whether features such as the calculator, sharing, and meeting links are used. We send a sanitized page address without its query string. Calculator events do not include your sobriety date or day count. Google may process device, browser, approximate-location, and interaction data under its own policies.
Sam remains off until you check the consent box. If you then send a message, the text you type, up to six recent messages in that browser session, and a recognized city you choose to provide are sent to Google Gemini to generate one reply. We do not automatically attach the sobriety date or day count from the calculator. If you type those or other private details yourself, they are part of the message sent to Gemini.
Sober Network does not save Sam chat transcripts or send a failed request to a second AI provider. Google may process or retain the request under its own terms and privacy policy. A one-way hash of the connection address, a request count, and a time window are kept temporarily in server memory-backed storage to prevent abuse; no message content is included and the counter is cleaned after one hour.
Do not send Sam information you want to keep private. Sam is not a clinician and is not a substitute for medical care or emergency support.
Google Analytics and Google Ads may use cookies or similar identifiers for measurement. You can restrict cookies in your browser or use the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on. The calculator itself does not require an account or a sobriety-date cookie.
The Share buttons create text containing your calculated day count. Choosing X or Facebook sends that text to the selected service; choosing Copy places it on your device clipboard. Nothing is shared until you choose one of those actions.
We do not sell or rent your sobriety date or Sam messages. Data is disclosed to service providers only as described above or when legally required. You can use the calculator without Sam, decline browser geolocation, restrict analytics in your browser, and clear local browser data at any time. Sobriety Clock's nearest-city calculation runs in your browser and does not send your precise coordinates to our server.
